Naturliga \u201domr\u00e5den\u201d \u00e4r fysik (elektriska komponenter), matematik (programmatiskt t\u00e4nkande och modellering), tekniskt arbete (fysiskt genomf\u00f6rande av apparaten). Omr\u00e5det kan l\u00e4tt utvidgas till konst (olika ljuseffekter, musik och instrument producerade med Arduino), m\u00e4tningar av milj\u00f6n (observation av temperatur och belysning). Sensorer som m\u00e4ter kroppens funktion kan kopplas till Arduino (h\u00e4lsokunskap, gymnastik). Aktiva anv\u00e4ndare har producerat material p\u00e5 olika spr\u00e5k (spr\u00e5kundervisning). Mobil teknik fyller i dag upp en stor del av m\u00e4nniskans tekniska milj\u00f6. Arduino erbjuder en m\u00f6jlighet att \u201dkika bakom tekniken\u201d, se hur den fungerar och hur apparater och program h\u00e5ller v\u00e4rlden i rullning. Projektarbetet erbjuder m\u00e5nga olika m\u00f6jligheter. Gruppen omfattar ofta olika former av beg\u00e5vning; en person kan koncentrera sig p\u00e5 att planera apparatens funktioner, n\u00e5gon annan kan planera apparatens h\u00f6lje och en tredje person kan koncentrera sig p\u00e5 att skriva kod.
